The Porch Light is Still On

"Some days healing looks like progress.
Other days it simply looks like showing up.
Either way, you're welcome here."

There are some places in life where you have to knock before you're welcome.
This isn't one of them.
If you've found your way here, whether by accident, curiosity, or because life became heavier than you knew how to carry, then pull up a chair.
The coffee is warm.
The light is on.
I'm glad you're here.
Maybe you came because you finished The Cycle Ends Here and wondered what happened after the last page.
Maybe someone shared this place with you.
Maybe you searched for something you couldn't quite put into words and somehow ended up on this porch.
However you arrived...
Welcome home.
Life has a way of convincing us that we have to earn rest.
That we have to deserve kindness.
That we have to have everything figured out before we're allowed to exhale.
I've spent enough years believing those things to know they aren't true.
So before we talk about anything else...
Take a breath.
Not because it fixes everything.
But because you deserve one.
This porch was never built to impress anyone.
It wasn't built to sell you something.
It wasn't built because I have all the answers.
It was built because I remember what it felt like to wish there was somewhere I could simply exist for a little while without having to explain myself.
Somewhere quiet.
Somewhere safe.
Somewhere that asked nothing from me except to come as I was.
If that's what you need today...
Stay.
The journal you're about to read won't always be polished.
Some days it will be hopeful.
Some days it will be honest.
Some days it may simply be a reminder that healing doesn't always look like progress. Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed. Sometimes it looks like asking for help. Sometimes it looks like sitting in silence until your heart catches its breath.
All of those things count.
If no one has told you lately...
You're allowed to rest.
You're allowed to begin again.
You're allowed to become someone your past never imagined.
Most of all...
You're allowed to be here.
If you ever decide to write to me, know this:
I may not always have the perfect words.
I may not be able to answer immediately.
But every message will be received with gratitude.
Because behind every message is a person.
And every person deserves to know they matter.
Thank you for stopping by the Porch.
Whether this is your first visit or your hundredth...
Whether you stay five minutes or an hour...
Whether you read every letter or simply sit quietly for a moment...
The invitation remains the same.
Come as you are.
Stay as long as you'd like.
And whenever life feels a little too loud...
You'll know where to find me.
The porch light is still on.
